Courtside for
Tournament Directors
A tournament director hands a whole draw a free way to follow their kids' matches. Every match becomes a shared link that travels. Coach Ace, living inside Courtside, is what converts. The program that turns one TD relationship into a tournament's worth of families.
Why the tournament is the unlock
One relationship, a whole draw
Getting attention one parent at a time is the hard part. A tournament concentrates it. You acquire a whole event through a single conversation, at the highest-intent moment in junior tennis: match day.
1 TD
= one full draw
32 to 128 juniors, switched on at once.
64–256
parents per weekend
Concentrated in one place, already invested.
$0–500
per event to sponsor
Often free, because it makes their event better.
The growth loop
Inject → Spread → Close → Compound
Three roles, one self-feeding loop. The TD injects, the share link spreads, Coach Ace closes. Then converted families bring it to the next event.
01 · Inject
TD turns on the draw
The director gives every family Courtside for their event. One yes, a whole tournament live.
QR card at the desk + one line in the pre-tournament email + a logo on the tournament page.

02 · Spread
The link travels
Every match is one shareable link. Parents courtside and grandparents at home follow every point.
"Get your Courtside link, invite the whole family." It rides into group chats for free.
▶
03 · Close
Coach Ace converts
Ace lives inside Courtside. Ask it about the match, no login. A few answers free, then it caps.
Courtside stays free forever. $12/mo unlocks unlimited Ace + weekly focus + points + finder.

04 · Compound
Families carry it
Converted families bring Courtside to their home club and next tournament. The TD looks good for offering it.
Every happy TD is the warm intro to the next TD. The loop seeds itself.

The marketing message
What the family hears
"Get your Courtside link. Follow your player's match live and invite the whole family to watch. Free, sponsored by Courtside."
The TD says it · in the email, on the page, at the desk
The positioning
- Courtside is free. Always. Sponsored by Courtside, no catch, the whole family follows along.
- Coach Ace is the upgrade. The free taste lives inside the match. The depth is the subscription.
- Ace-in-Courtside is the key. The match is where a parent first feels the value, then keeps it.
How a TD puts it out
- Pre-tournament email one line + link in the message they already send registered families.
- Tournament / USTA page "Live scoring by Courtside" blurb + logo + link.
- QR card at the desk in the welcome packet or at check-in.
- Concierge setup we wire it for their draw. Zero work for them.
The TD's side of the desk
Why a director says yes
The pitch to a TD is not "help your athlete." It is "make your event better, at no cost or effort."
What they get
- A live tournament their event feels modern, families follow from anywhere.
- Free promotion every shared recap is marketing for their tournament.
- Less paper scores captured digitally instead of chasing scorecards.
- Zero lift we set it up, they just mention it.
Guardrails (so it stays clean)
- Signups flow parent → app QR / link only. We never touch a TD's registration list.
- Game-level scoring default low parent burden, low dispute risk. Point-by-point is opt-in.
- "Let the players keep score" banner parents follow, never intervene. Courtside is the family's view, not the official score.
- Warm, not bulk personal outreach, one TD at a time. They talk to each other.
The economics
What it costs to sponsor
At the L6/L7 level the number is small. Many TDs say yes for free because Courtside makes their event better. When cash is involved, it tracks local youth-sports sponsorship comps: a banner, an email line, and a logo on the page.
Per-event reference (researched comps)
- Free / in-kind common at small junior events. Value-for-value: a useful tool for their families.
- $100–$500 / event banner + email mention + logo + link. Matches Sportsmen's Tennis ($500) and youth-sports Bronze/Silver tiers ($100–$500).
- $500–$1,000 bigger L4/L5 or a title-style placement. Not the starting tier.
The reach math
- 50–200 families / event a 32–128 draw, both parents in play.
- ~$2.50–$10 per family at $250–$500/event. $0 when in-kind.
- vs ~$10–$50 paid CAC tournament reach is cheaper and higher-intent, and the link keeps traveling after the event.
| Scenario | Events | Avg / event | Budget | Families reached | Per family |
| Pilot · Jul–Aug | 5–8 SoCal L6/L7 | $0 (in-kind) | $0–1,500 | ~400–1,200 | ~$0–1.50 |
| SoCal season · fall | ~20 | ~$250 | ~$5,000 | ~2,000 | ~$2.50 |
| Scale · CA + Tier-2 | ~100 | ~$250 | ~$25,000 | ~10,000 | ~$2.50 |
Directional estimates from researched comps, not quotes. Real numbers come from the TD feedback calls (each call ends with "what would a fair sponsorship be?"). Start the pilot in-kind to learn the loop before committing cash. No money moves without Justino executing.
